Mokala National Park

Mokala National Park was such an incredible find which we got to enjoy as part of our honeymoon adventures exactly 1 year ago! [Happy Anniversary Mr Ocker!] We rented the .... house which had its own private access overlooking a large watering hole. The first thing said was we are going to be so lucky and a baby rhino will come down to our waterhole for a drink and lone behold on the first evening whilst enjoying a braai and a glass of wine a baby rhino strolled down with his mom! Mokala definitely left us with a happy heart.

This San Park is located approximately 70km outside of Kimberly and west on the N12 freeway to Cape Town. This beautiful park is nestled in the hills amoungst large open plains. Mokala is one of the newest SansParks and is definitely one for the books boosting Rhinos, buffalo, warthogs by the dozen, rhone, giraffe, zebra, tsitsibee to name but few.

This was our amazing cottage in the middle of the park that over looks a large watering hole. We would enjoy our picnic lunches outside simply observing all the animals making their way through to the water. This was such a special experience to be apart of the African bush without the restriction of fences.

Not only did we have a baby rhino down at our secluded watering hole but we got another unique sitting on one of our many game drives. We also spotted a tiny little buffalo with his mom at such close proximity.

One of our absolute favorite parts of being in the bush is a truly South African braai with outstanding sunsets! This experience should be on everyone's bucket lists.
